expectations.
The Kigezi region is endowed with unmatched Gorilla National parks, pristine crater lakes, iconic

Nature walk and hiking
Our tourists will be taken on a guided nature walk for about 2 hours through the community
villages on the slopes of Karunga hills and along the shores of Lake Mutanda. The tourists will
experience the native traditional way of life of the Bafumbira people, which will include visits
to their traditional houses, seeing their crafts, traditional clothing, traditional dances and
songs.
Nature walks give our tourist access to the hidden beautiful views of Mountain Muhavura, Mt.
Sabinyo, Mt. Mugahinga and Mt. Nyamuragira in DR Congo.

Batwa Experience
The Batwa are a hunter-gatherer people commonly knowns as “pygmies” who are native to the
Mugahinga Forest and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. They are known to be very radical in
maintaining their primitive way of life like hunting using handy local weapons, making
fires using only sticks and grass and use of traditional musical instruments, to mention but a few.
Our tourists will experience the life and historical journey of the Batwa people on a guided visit of 2
hours within their small closed communities.

Traditional Coffee roasting and tasting Experience
Coffee is a traditional major cash crop that has brought household income to many families who grow it on
the slopes and valleys of the hilly Kisoro district and Uganda at large. The locals use traditional
coffee crop garden management methods, post-harvest handling, drying and grinding to produce a clean,
quality coffee powder with a unique taste.
Our tourists will have a 3 hours traditional coffee value chain experience which will climax into
different coffee tasting options for their enjoyment. In addition, there are various coffee products to
purchase out of pocket.

Birding
Kisoro district is surrounded by diverse ecological systems of Mountain Muhavura, Mt.
Mugahinga, Mt. Sabinyo, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Ecuya Forest Reserve, Lake
Mutanda and Lake Chahafi.
Our tourists will be given 2 hours guided tour through some strategic birding sites to view scarce bird
species like; the famous African Jacana, Robin-chat, Kingfishers, Cormorants, Weaver birds, Hamerkop,
black crake and Yellow-billed duck, among others.

Canoe tracking
Cost $ 50 per person (Cost will vary on use of canoe boat or engine boat)
The ecological water systems of Lake Mutanda, Lake Kayumbu, Lake Mulehe and Lake Chahafi have various
water creatures like water otters, pythons and herons and very scenic mountain views. Our tourists will
have a 2 hours gentle canoe ride along the shores of the chosen lake while experiencing the water
animals, breathtaking views and sport fishing.
Boat ride
$ 60 per person
There are unique islands on Lake Mutanda like Punishment island, Skeleton island and Mutanda Island.
These extraordinary islands have a rich history narrated by our tour guide during a 2 hours boat ride.
Mutanda island has a moderate community with a reasonable population who will entertain and interact with
our tourists about their ways of life.
River Exploration

During the rainy season in March, April, September, October, November and December, we have 3 hours of
guided hiking along with the water outlet of Lake Mutanda. This safari lets our tourists experience the
unique seasonal ecology of these water ways measuring 6Km, which host various water animals like; Otters
and python snakes.
Traditional hunter-gatherer wild cooking

In the old tradition of the Banyakigezi, our ancestors used to cook in the wild without water and modern
systems of making a fire. At Lake Mutanda Glampsite Porch, we will give our tourists a 3 to 5 hours
guided lesson and experience in this ancient tradition of our forefathers using these traditional
methods.
